    About Flino

AI-powered SaaS platform that helps B2B companies systematically follow up on proposals, identify buying signals, and improve conversion rates through automated and context-aware communication.

    The Challenge

    Building Fast vs. Owning Infrastructure

Flino had been developed rapidly using Lovable and had already reached a stage with active users and production-critical workflows. But the Lovable Cloud setup created increasing operational risks.

    !
Production database and backend infrastructure tied to Lovable Cloud
    !
No direct control over the Supabase project hosting data and backend functions
    !
    Limited rollback and environment-management options
    !
No clean separation between development, staging, and production
    !
    ~USD 200/month recurring Lovable cost
    !
Setup becoming harder to justify for investors, partners, and larger customers
    !
Needed greater control over data residency, credentials, and infrastructure ownership

    The Goal:

Remove the infrastructure lock-in while keeping the existing application and user experience intact. Not rebuild the product — own the infrastructure.

    Migration Checklist

72 PostgreSQL tables with RLS policies, triggers, and extensions
    2 database views
100+ Supabase Edge Functions deployed and verified
Supabase Storage buckets, policies, and stored files
25+ environment variables and secrets migrated and rotated
Google OAuth and email/password authentication reconfigured
Microsoft 365 and Outlook integrations migrated
Stripe webhooks and signing secrets reconfigured
Resend, PostHog, Meta CAPI, and Vertex AI integrations verified
Lovable enabled us to build and launch Flino very quickly. But once we had active users, the lack of infrastructure ownership, staging, and reliable rollback options became a real business risk. Nabil migrated our production backend — including 72 tables, more than 100 Edge Functions, storage, authentication, secrets, billing, email integrations, and AI workflows — to our own Supabase EU environment without customer-facing downtime. We now control our critical infrastructure, GitHub can become our source of truth, and we are free to continue developing with Lovable, Codex, Claude Code, or other tools without being locked into a single platform.

    The Outcome

    Infrastructure Ownership Without Rebuilding

Flino owns and controls its production Supabase project
Database hosted in EU region (designed to support GDPR and EU data-residency requirements)
Data, storage, authentication, Edge Functions, and secrets no longer dependent on Lovable Cloud
GitHub serves as the central source of truth for application code
Can continue using Lovable, Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor without platform lock-in
Clearer path toward separate staging and production environments
Infrastructure costs and dependencies easier to control
Better technical foundation for future customers, partners, and funding discussions

    Key Benefit:

Flino retained the speed of AI-assisted product development while gaining ownership of its critical production infrastructure. The company can now use any development tool — Lovable, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or traditional workflows — without being locked into a single platform for production hosting.

The migration gave us exactly what we needed: ownership of our production infrastructure without rebuilding the product or interrupting our users.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about migrating from Lovable to Next.js

How long did the Flino migration take?

The complete migration was performed during a single weekend. The preparation and verification phase happened while the original backend remained available. The production cutover only occurred after the new Supabase EU environment passed all agreed smoke tests.

Was there any downtime during the migration?

No customer-facing downtime was observed during the migration. The migration was planned and executed to minimize disruption to active users, with the original backend remaining available during preparation.

What happened to the existing data?

All 72 database tables, 2 views, storage files, and associated data were migrated to the new EU-hosted Supabase project. RLS policies, triggers, extensions, and database logic were all preserved and verified.

Can Flino still use Lovable after the migration?

Yes. Flino can continue using Lovable, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or any other development tool. The difference is that Lovable is now optional for development rather than mandatory for production infrastructure.

Is the new setup GDPR compliant?

The production database is hosted in an EU region and is designed to support GDPR and EU data-residency requirements. Flino now has direct control over its data residency and credentials.
